Part of Cybersecurity & Risk
Security strategy & governance
A security programme your board can understand, fund and hold to account, built around the risks that matter to your business.

Most security spending follows the last incident or the loudest vendor. We start from what the business cannot afford to lose, then build the roles, priorities and reporting that keep effort pointed there.
When to call us. Signs it’s time for this work.
- Your board asks about cyber risk and gets technical answers.
- Security budgets rise each year without a clear view of progress.
- Nobody can say who owns risk decisions across business units.
- Policies exist on paper but rarely shape day-to-day behaviour.
What’s included. Scoped to your context, delivered end to end.
- 01
Maturity and risk assessment
An honest view of where you stand against ISO 27001 or NIST, weighted by business impact rather than checklist counts.
- 02
Security strategy and roadmap
A phased plan with costed initiatives, clear owners and sequencing that fits your budget cycle and delivery capacity.
- 03
Governance and operating model
Defined roles, committees and decision rights, from the CISO function to business risk owners and the board.
- 04
Board and executive reporting
A small set of meaningful indicators that tell leaders whether risk is going up or down, and why.
How we work. Four phases, with value at every step.
- 1
2–3 weeks
Understand
We interview leaders, review existing controls and map the assets, processes and data the business depends on most.
- 2
2–4 weeks
Assess
We measure maturity against a recognised framework and rank gaps by likelihood, impact and cost to close.
- 3
3–4 weeks
Design
We shape the target operating model and roadmap with your teams, testing each priority against budget and capacity.
- 4
Ongoing
Embed
We help run the first governance cycles, refine reporting and adjust the plan as threats and priorities shift.

Where we do this work. Sectors where this service matters most.
- Financial ServicesBanks, insurers and asset managers modernising for a digital, regulated and increasingly competitive market.

- Public SectorGovernment bodies and agencies delivering simpler, more trusted public services.

- Energy & UtilitiesEnergy producers, networks and utilities navigating the energy transition.

Common questions.
Which framework do you use?
Usually ISO 27001 or the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, depending on your sector and regulators. The framework is a reference point; the priorities come from your business.
Do we need a full-time CISO first?
No. Many clients start without one. Part of our work is defining what the role should look like and whether it should be internal, shared or interim.
How do you involve the board?
We meet directors early to understand their risk appetite, then design reporting they will actually read. We can also run short briefing sessions for board members.
More in Cybersecurity & Risk. Offerings that often run together.
- Regulatory readinessPractical preparation for data-protection, banking and sector security rules, so audits confirm what you already do well.
- Identity & zero trustControl who can reach what, from where, with access that tightens security without slowing people down.
- Resilience & incident readinessBe ready to detect, contain and recover from a serious cyber incident, with decisions rehearsed before they are needed.
